A VISIT TO THE KUBWA METROPOLITAN STATION UNDER CONSTRUCTION

In continuation of the Controller General of Fire Service 100 days’ celebration in office, Abdulganiyu O. Jaji MFire, MNSE paid an inspection visit to the Kubwa Metropolitan Station under construction and in about 75% completion rate. The CG who was visibly excited seeing the state of work and the stage of the construction work going on openly expressed his happiness over the spate of work and the materials used for the construction as well. He was taken around the facility by the contractor and the project coordinator of the FFS. The contractor handling the project intimated the Controller General of what the edifice comprises of. According to the contractor, when the building is completed, it will be equipped with 100,000.00 cubic litres capacity of underground water reservoir, an overhead tank, water hydrants, one conference room, recreational room, control room, zonal and area commander office archives, 5 general offices, equipment store, 5 appliances bay and maintenance bay, general store, 2 main gate (entrance & exit) drill tower, and large parking space. When asked when the project will be ready for commissioning by the CG. the contactor, gave a 2 to 3-month completion date if fund is made available to him. This the CG assured him will be provided as soon as possible. It is worthy to note that the Federal Fire Service is constructing 13 of similar Fire Metropolitan station across the country and they are all in various stages of completion.
